In the studio

I’ve been a professional actor for 30 years and voice acting for over 20.

Yn actio a lleisio yn ddwyiethog ers y dechrau.

When I set up my first studio in 2008, I was the only native Welsh speaking voice actor with my own recording capabilities. I bring a lot of experience and am often described ‘a safe pair of hands’.

Mae gen i lawer o gleiantiaid sy’n dibynnu ar fy mhrofiad.

As a theatre and screen actor transitioning into voice acting, I started out with character work and one of my earliest jobs was playing Mrs Girdling in the Oscar Winning movie Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

I am a Vox Award Winner 2024 for The Best Female Voiceover Performance of the Year, and have also recently been nominated for my 5th One Voice Award award.

I continued to work with Aardman for a few years whilst also voicing cartoon characters bilingually for S4C and working as a theatre actor. You can see most of my acting experience on my spotlight page.

Un o’n swyddi troslais cyntaf oedd dybio cymeriadau cartŵn Cymraeg.

When I became a mum a few years later I decided to set up my own studio and have been connecting and recording remotely from that for over 15 years, in addition to my theatre and writing work.

Mae tua 80% o fy ngwaith yn ddwyieithog.

Theatre reviews

Six of those last fifteen years were spent in Boston, Massachusetts, where I lived with my family and worked as a theatre actor and director and also as a writer, director, and producer of theatre for children and young people.

I still of course recorded projects for clients all over the world from my own studio on a daily basis.

Appearances

After winning the Welsh language writing prize ‘Grandramodi‘, I was asked to appear as a guest on the long running daytime chat show ‘Prynhawn Da’.

I was delighted to be invited to speak at The One Voice Conference for a second time in 2023, this time to talk about finding longevity in VO through embracing you niche. While I was there I also joined a panel discussion on accents alongside Blanche Anderson (pictured here), Danny Cowan, Marcus Bentley and hosted by Neil Sloan.

“Just wanted to say how much your talk on Saturday meant to me, so thankyou!!  You talked about things that I feel all the time, like being the only one with the silly voice surrounded by velvet RP tones. It hadn’t occurred to me that this makes me SPECIAL, as opposed to unemployable. You’ve made me feel like I have something valuable to offer and I wanted you to know it made a real difference. Thanks again! And if I ever see anyone looking for a Welsh voice, I know where to find the rockstar of Welsh voiceover.”

Victoria Riley – Northern British Voice Actor

My first appearance as a speaker was in 2019 while I was still living in the U.S. I was invited to talk about being a British VO in the U.S. at the  One Voice Conference in London.
